Video: Neurodegenerative Disease And Endocrine Balancing, An Integrative Approach

Presented by Labrix Clinical Services, LLC

By the year 2020, over 40% of the US population will be older than 60 years of age. Over the next 40 years we’re facing an epidemic of neurologic /neurodegenerative diseases on a global scale. In 2008, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics reported that Alzheimer’s disease surpassed diabetes as the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. We all employ strategies to temper memory loss and forgetfulness (list keeping etc.)but we are all living longer, and the impact of brain aging and the inherent deterioration becomes critical and in some cases hazardous.

Hormones are directly involved in aging. The various hormone levels change dramatically with time, and their very absence, decrease, and/or overabundance is associated with the progression of neurodegenerative illness and has negative consequences for the brain. In the following webinar presented by Dr. Jay Mead, learn:

  • Accurate assessment of these hormones.
  • Which hormones are neuroprotective (estradiol, progesterone etc.), and which ones can have a negative impact on brain health and aging (stress hormones; glucocorticoids).
  • The most common neurodegenerative diseases in light of hormone levels and hormone balancing.
  • How to optimize and physiologically balance of all of these parameters.
