JAMA Study Finds Presence of Banned Substances in Dietary Supplements After FDA Recall

A recent study in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) found that of the supplements still available for purchase a minimum of 6 months after FDA recalls, 66.7%  continued to test positive for banned pharmaceutical ingredients. While the study authors admitted to several limitations in the study, their findings recommended more aggressive enforcement of the law, or changes to the law, in order to prevent sales of such products in the future.
