New Study Sponsored by Thorne Research Looks to Link Concussion Recovery and Vitamins

football-1160946_1920Thorne Research and ChromaDex Corp are sponsoring a Mayo Clinic study to investigate whether ingesting nicotinamide riboside (NR), a vitamin B3 (niacin) metabolite naturally found in milk, will help boost the levels of enzyme Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) in the brain. Low levels of NAD have been associated with concussions and traumatic brain injury. The enzyme is essential for cellular health and energy conversion, the brain uses up supplies of NAD when dealing with these kinds of injuries.
